Thirty years ago, KDSTR Radio Corporation began with a simple dream: 

To empower underserved communities by giving them a voice. It was the brainchild of Perry Damone, son of Vic Damone and Pier Angeli and a Clear Channel broadcaster for over 35 years. It found its beginnings in an elementary school in Arizona where Perry was the guest speaker at a career day. After entertaining the kids for over 2 hours someone asked, “Could we have a radio station in this school?” The rest is history.

But KDSTR's impact doesn't stop there. We embraced the digital age, launching internet-based radio stations and providing training to young people and in later years to those with special needs. Through our innovative programs, hundreds of individuals have found their voice and connected with the world.

Unfortunately, the pandemic forced KDSTR to largely go silent. However, the spirit of our mission remains strong. We are now raising funds to:

Preserve Perry's dream: Ensure that underserved communities, especially those with special needs, continue to have a platform to share their stories and perspectives.

Build a sustainable future: Develop a plan to keep KDSTR thriving, ensuring its impact for generations to come.

Empower the Special Needs community: Create a radio station run entirely by members of the Special Needs community, providing them with valuable volunteer and paid opportunities.
